Are we having fun yet?

How is everyone doing? I myself am getting used to looking a bit anaemic here, but oh well. At least I got my title to be green. As one grows older, one must content oneself with simple victories.

I put all my various reading links onto a blogroll, which can be accessed by clicking on the 'Blogroll of favourites' link. I'm still working on it, however.

I did notice that some people seemed to take right off flying with the new set up. They had background images and all kinds of things. I always like to cover my lack of ability in splashy layouts by saying that I prefer quick-loading templates. Yes, quick-loading. Sounds good, doesn't it?

Don't know about your profiles, but mine went out the window. I don't know how many times I can keep making all these details up!

If I had one thing to complain about, I would just like to mention that I feel the particular placement of the Google ads SUCKS. Every time you click on your address, the ads hit you right in the face. Before, they were above your header. Now they are below it and right in the middle. We have no control over the things they advertise, and at any rate, the placement is just yucky. Mine today were talking about 'living wills'. Is Google trying to tell me something?

You can change where the adds go. For example take a look at mine. No adds? Well they are there, just right down the very bottom.
So if you do use HTML you can put the adds away from your blog yessss

moirob, I can do HTML, but what do I do? Where do I go to change it? On Wordpress, for example, you can edit your style sheet.

Fiona, Rob's right. You could take a simple fast loading layout from layoutdealer and change the colours and the ads would b right out of the way.

The top entry on customer support explains this and links to four basic layouts you could do it on.

Okay thanks, when I get a minute's peace, I will attempt it. But really, I'm so quick-loading--I rather like being anaemic! lol

MOIROB--never mind!! It was just my browser. I can read it now. Sorry. The orange background wasn't showing up. It's just my browser. It's not really 'with it', but it matches me, so I use it. :p

Would I be a total arse if I asked: Why should it be necessary to have a good level of HTML understanding in order to get a decent-looking blog? What about the poor sods who don't want to go to the trouble of learning loads of code... they just want to set up a blog that doesn't look crap? (though, of course, as with all such things, I know it's always content that triumphs over form).

Alan, you could type your stuff on toilet tissue and it's so good, it would be worth its weight in gold.

Garn, you ol' flatterer, you. Sorry... you flatterer, you.
Seriously, I can't be arsed to learn HTML to tart up my place... and I don't see why I, or anyone else, should have to. I'm interested that it seems to be the HTML geeks who universally love and praise the new platform. Bit of elitism, don't you think?

Good to see you got rid of those pesky adverts.
My blog has just been going through alot of changes over the last few hours. But I've settled on a design thatmay look more readable

Fiona (5.6.06 22:29)
Well, I went and got the template that amillionpieces designed and changed the colours, but I would like to know how to put a calendar on it--should be able to because it's like my Wordpress templates. Ideas anyone?
